Texas took a 4-2 win over Tulane before knocking off Tulsa 5-0 in the consolation round of the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala., on Saturday.
The Longhorns completed a comeback win over Tulane, taking four singles matches after losing the doubles point on Friday.
Neda Koprcina defeated Kyla Klier 6-0, 6-3 while Petra Granic defeated Sade Atkinson 6-0, 6-1. Wins by Katie Poluta and Anna Turati rounded out the Texas victories. Poluta bested Christina Sisti 6-4, 6-0 while Turati defeated Ivone Alvaro 6-1, 4-6, 6-0.
Texas didn’t waste time in defeating Tulsa, taking the doubles point and reeling off four straight singles wins.
Petra Granic and Dani Wagland teamed up to defeat Ksenia Laskutova and Martina Okalova 6-2. Koprcina and Turati defeated Marcelina Cichon and Mahitha Dadireddy 6-2.
Bianca Turati, ranked 39th in ITA singles, defeated Laskutova at first singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Granic, Anna Turati and Poluta all earned straight set wins. Granic defeated Dadireddy 6-2, 6-2 while Anna Turati topped Okalova 6-2, 6-2. Poluta won her match 7-6, 6-2.
Texas will face Stanford and Fresno State next weekend in dual match play.
