The top-seeded Longhorns women’s tennis team cruised to a 4-0 victory over TCU in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament at the Texas Tennis Center Friday.
Petra Granic clinched the win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Donika Bashota.
Granic also had a hand in helping the Longhorns seal the doubles point. She teamed with Bojana Markovic to defeat Alexis Pereira and Bashota 6-4.
Anna and Bianca Turati got the first doubles win by defeating Marie Norris and Elizabeth Tedford 6-3.
Marta Perez-Mur then made it 2-0 for Texas with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Pereiraj to start singles action.
Anna Turati pulled Texas to within a win of clinching the match with her 6-1, 6-1 victory over Norris.
The win made it 20 for the season, the first time since 2008 for Texas.
The Longhorns are set to face Baylor in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday.
