The Texas women’s tennis team defeated Baylor 4-1 in the Big 12 championship semifinals at the Texas Tennis Center on Saturday.
Anna Turati sealed the match with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Camilla Abbate. The win makes it 16 straight for the women this season.
Texas will take on Texas Tech Sunday at 1 p.m. for the championship. The last time the two squads met, Texas won 4-2 in Lubbock.
The Longhorns won the doubles point and dropped just one singles match on the way to the win Saturday.
Petra Granic and Bojana Markovic won 6-3 before Turati and her twin sister, Bianca, teamed up to win 6-4.
Granic and Dani Wagland each won in straight sets for Texas. Granic defeated Jessica Hinojosa 6-0, 6-1 while Wagland won 6-4, 6-4 over Angie Shakhraichuk.
