The Texas women’s tennis team opened the NCAA tournament with a 4-0 win over McNeese St. at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday.
Texas won the doubles point before winning three singles matches in straight sets.
Anna Turati clinched the win with a 7-6 (2), 6-1 victory over Sarah Jurakova.
Turati and her twin sister, Bianca, opened doubles with a 6-2 win before Marta Perez-Mur and Dani Wagland clinched the point.
Petra Granic gave Texas a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Hannah Brett.
Perez-Mur set the Longhorns up to close out the match with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Charoline Erlandsson.
The win is the 18th in a row for the Longhorns. They’ll take on Texas A&M in the second round at noon Saturday. The Aggies defeated Rice 4-3 to advance.
