No. 18 Texas women’s tennis team won the doubles point and added five singles victories to defeat Kansas State 6-1 in a dual match at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday.
Bojana Markovic clinched the win with a 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Anna Turco.
The Longhorns won two of three doubles matches to make it a 1-0 contest. Markovic and Fernanda Labraña won 6-4 before Bianca and Anna Turati won their match 6-4 to clinch the point.
Petra Granic made it 2-0 with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Karine-Marion Job.
Bianca Turati put Texas at the brink of victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Maria Linares.
After the match was clinched, Labraña won 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 over Ines Mesquita. Anna Turati finished off the action with a 2-6, 7-5, 7-5 win over Margot Decker.
