The No. 7 Texas women’s tennis team came out on top in a back-and-forth contest against TCU, winning 4-3 at the Texas Tennis Center on Friday.
Bojana Markovic made a strong comeback to clinch the match for Texas (11-3), winning 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.
TCU (12-6) won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead before Anna Turati tied the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Aleksa Cveticanin. That made 11 straight singles wins for Turati, nine of which have come in straight sets.
Petra Granic gave Texas its first lead after she beat Kate Paulus 6-2, 6-1.
Ellie Douglas upset No. 17 Bianca Turati to tie the contest once again. Douglas won 6-4, 6-3.
Katie Poluta put Texas in position to win the match with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Stevie Kennedy.
After Chloe Hule beat Fernanda Labraña in three sets, Markovic sealed the win for Texas.
