Turati and Labraña advance to final at ITF pro circuit event

Anna Turati and Fernanda Labraña claimed a pair of wins at the ITF Norman 15k pro circuit event in Norman, Okla. on Friday.

Turati defeated Emma Davis in the singles quarterfinals, dominating the action with a 6-0, 6-0 win.

Labraña and Turati then topped Kailey Evans and Ashlyn Krueger in the doubles semifinals. The Texas duo won 6-2, 6-3 and will play for the title against Kelly Williford and Amy Zhu on Saturday.


Turati competes in singles semifinals on Saturday as well, facing Savannah Broadus.

Four Longhorns also opened competition at the H-E-B Invitational in Waco.

Lexi Ryngler won twice in singles action of the Gold Bracket to highlight the day. She defeated Sara Lizariturry of Mississippi State 6-1, 6-0 in the round of 32. Ryngler then won 6-3, 6-1 over Paula Baranano of Baylor in the round of 16.

Ryngler also teamed with Tijana Spasojevic to beat Marta Falceto and Valeria Nikolaev of Mississippi State 6-3 in the doubles round of 16.

Marta Perez Mur and Gabby Cusano also picked up wins in the singles Green Draw.
