Fernanda Labraña picked up another victory Saturday to advance to the singles championship at the Texas Invitational hosted by the Texas Tennis Center.
Labraña defeated Jessica Anzo of Texas A&M 6-3, 6-4 to compete in the finals of the Burnt Orange bracket. She’ll face Daevenia Achong of Miami on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Labraña also competed in doubles with Marta Perez Mur. The Texas duo faced Jackie Nylander and Isabella Tcherkes Zade of SMU and came away with a 6-3 victory.
The pair also topped Sarai Monarrez Yesaki and Claudia Bartolome of SMU 7-5.
Tijana Spasojevic also claimed a singles win over Zade in an additional match. The Longhorn won 6-4, 7-6 (7-2).
Players from Miami, Rice, SMU, Tennessee and Texas A&M joined the Longhorns at the event which features one 12-team doubles bracket, one 16-player singles draw and one 9-player singles draw.
