Texas women’s tennis team advances to ITA Indoor Nationals

The No. 7 Texas women’s tennis team swept LSU 4-0 Saturday at the Texas Tennis Center to advance to the ITA Indoor Nationals.

Texas took the doubles point and won three singles matches for the sweep.

Adri Nagy clinched the victory by defeating Paris Corley 6-2, 7-6 (3).


Texas got doubles victories from the Turati sisters, Anna and Bianca, and the duo of Fernanda Labraña and Marta Perez Mur for a 1-0 lead. The Turatis clinched the point with a 6-4 win over Eden Richardson and Nina Geissler. Labraña and Perez Mur got the first doubles win by besting Safiya Carrington and Corley 6-4.

Lexi Ryngler and Tijana Spasojevic also won singles matches in straight sets to help the Longhorns secure the win.

Ryngler defeated Richardson 6-3, 6-1 to make it 2-0.

Spasojevic topped Anna Loughlan 6-4, 6-3 before Nagy closed out the match.
