The No. 7 Texas women’s tennis team won 4-1 over Illinois in the consolation bracket of the ITA Team Indoor Championships in Chicago on Saturday.
Fernanda Labraña defeated Ashley Yeah 6-2, 7-6 to clinch the match for the Longhorns.
The Longhorns won the doubles point and had three singles wins to take the match.
The Turati twins, Bianca and Anna, defeated Josie Frazier and Emilee Duong 6-2. Labraña and Marta Perez Mur took the other doubles win, a 6-3 victory over Sasha Belaya and Mia Rabinowitz.
Anna Turati didn’t give up a single game in her 6-0, 6-0 win over Rabinowitz to double Texas’ lead.
Bianca Turati made it 3-1 with her 6-2, 6-2 triumph over Asuka Kawai.
The win helps take a little bit of the sting out of falling to No. 9 Florida State on Friday.
