Texas Coach Tom Herman had to field all sorts of questions Monday after the Longhorn’s epic showdown and loss to the University of Southern California this weekend.
But one was especially juicy. CBS Austin’s Anthony Geronimo had the gall to ask:
You didn’t have to be sitting all that close to spot Herman blowing and popping massive chewing gum bubbles as he paced the sidelines during Saturday’s game.
So here’s what you need to know:
“It is sugar-free Double Bubble. It is the individually packaged ones. I put seven in my pocket. At the start of each half I make sure there’s seven in my pocket. I think it’s just kind of — I don’t want to say a nervous habit — but obviously there’s something to that. The intensity level during a game is pretty high, and that’s something that at least I can kinda unwind a little bit by chewing some gum.”

Well keep chewing, Tom. Just make sure you bring enough to share with our boys.
