Texas, thanks to its 27-24 win over Kansas State, was ranked as the 19th best team in the latest College Football Playoff standings released Tuesday night.
The top four in the rankings are LSU, Ohio State, Clemson and Georgia. It’s an interesting move, the committee ranked the Bulldogs ahead of Alabama following the Crimson Tide’s loss to LSU.
The highest-rated Big 12 team is Oklahoma, which dropped a spot to 10th after its one-point win over Iowa State.
Baylor fell from 12th to 13th. The Bears stayed undefeated, but needed triple overtime to beat TCU in Fort Worth.
Texas, which wasn’t included in the first poll released last week, is the third-highest rated Big 12 team.
The Longhorns are one of four, three-loss teams among the top 25 and are the highest placed. Two of the three UT losses are to top 10 teams – LSU and OU.
Oklahoma State, after a bye, is No. 22. The Wildcats stayed in the poll at No. 24.
