A contingent of distance runners made the trip to New York for the Armory Track Invitational and posted personal records in the process on Friday and Saturday.
Alex Rogers took second place in the men’s mile with a time of 4:05.99.
Mary Beth Hamilton took third in the 800 meters while Gabby Crank finished in fourth. Hamilton recorded a time of 2:08.84 while Crank finished in 2:09.45.
On Friday, Meghan Lloyd recorded a personal best in the 3,000 meters with a time of 9:37.13 as she finished in fourth place.
John Rice finished the men’s 3,000 in 8:16.66, a personal best, to take third place.
“The distance group is in a much better place than the times reflected from this meet,” said assistant coach Brad Herbster. “Races were not set up for times as much as team scoring. The one or two races that got out fast we let them slip through our fingers. This group will be ready for Husky next week and will be in a good position to perform well.”
