In their home opener this season the Texas Longhorns will face college football’s 121st best team, the New Mexico State Aggies.
That lowly ranking comes courtesy of USA Today.
Yes, there are people who actually spend enormous time and effort — not to mention months — ranking college football teams from No. 1 to No. 125. USA Today’s countdown includes far more than you will probably ever want to read about this hapless team.
Some of the lowlights: Last year the Aggies won their opener and then proceeded to lose the next 11 games. They were last seen getting clobbered 66-28 by Texas State, a game in which nine different Bobcats scored touchdowns
It’s a safe bet the Aggies will leave Austin with their losing streak intact.
