The Longhorn Network is expected to exclusively air three University of Texas football games this fall, according to published reports.
The San Antonio Express-News reports UT athletic director DeLoss Dodds made the announcement today at a Big 12 gathering in Irving.
Dodds didn’t say which games would air on the elusive cable network, but the Aug. 31 season-opener against New Mexico State is expected to be one of them. LHN, which signed on in fall 2011, exclusively aired the 2011 and 2012 season-openers.
The University of Kansas game on Nov. 2 is reportedly another possibility.
In the Austin area, LHN is available to AT&T U-verse and Grande Communications customers.
Time Warner Cable, the area’s largest cable provider, doesn’t carry the network. Neither do DirecTV, Dish Network and Suddenlink Communications.
