Texas softball has released its six-game fall schedule, featuring five match-ups at McCombs Field.
The Longhorns begin their fall slate Oct. 3 against McClennan Community College at 7 p.m. at home, then will host Incarnate Word (1 p.m., Oct. 19), Galveston Community College (7 p.m., Oct. 24) and St. Edwards (5 p.m., Oct. 30). Texas travels to San Marcos on Nov. 7 to play Texas State at 7 p.m.
Texas will conclude its fall season Nov. 11 for a special Veterans Day slow-pitch game against the Sun City Veterans, scheduled for 6 p.m.
All five home games will be televised by the Longhorn Network. Admission to each of the home games is free and fans can park for free in lots 103 at 115 surrounding McCombs Field.
The Longhorns return seven starters from last year’s team that finished 35-23 and 18-9 in the Big 12 while advancing to the NCAA Regional finals before losing to Louisiana-Lafayette. Texas has four freshmen on this year’s team, including shortstop/outfielder Alyssa Angel of 2014 Class 3A state champion La Grange. Other freshmen include pitcher Kristen Clark, catcher Randel Leahy and pitcher Erica Wright.
