Texas announced Tuesday that offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle has been dismissed from the program for a violation of team rules.
Estelle, who had been suspended, was to sit his third game in a row this Saturday at Kansas. Coach Charlie Strong said recently that Estelle and suspended right tackle Desmond Harrison were down to their last strike.
Estelle, a junior from Pearland, Texas, becomes the ninth player to be dismissed from the program under Strong and the second since the season began.
Marcus Hutchins started the last two games in place of Estelle. Hutchins might now have the job permanently.
