TCU’s Trevone Boykin (offense) and Paul Dawson (defense) were named players of the year. Oklahoma’s Samaje Perine (offense) and Baylor’s Taylor Young (defense) are the league’s top newcomers.

Brown, a junior widely believed to be turning pro after this season, is in North Carolina for tonight’s presentation of the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. Brown is one of five finalists for the award, given annually to the nation’s top defensive player.

Brown is seventh in the Big 12 in both tackles for loss (12.5) and sacks (6.5).
