McGee-Stafford cleared to play
Posted December 17th, 2014
University of Texas women’s basketball center Imani McGee-Stafford has been cleared to play, associate athletic trainer Lisa Stalans said Wednesday.
The 6-7 junior had missed the first nine game of the season following tibia reinforcement surgery.
McGee-Stafford was an All-Big 12 second-team player last season.
Her presence should give Texas a dominating front line that already features 6-5 Kelsey Lang, the team’s leading scorer.
Texas has a game Wednesday night vs. McNeese State. The No. 3 Longhorns will play No. 4 Texas A&M in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge Sunday afternoon in Little Rock, Ark.
McGee-Stafford averaged 10.8 points and 7.3 rebounds as a sophomore.
