The Florida Five is now complete at Texas, as three-star wide receiver Gilbert Johnson committed to the Longhorns on Sunday.
Johnson, originally of Florida and currently at a prep school in Georgia, is the fifth Miami player to pledge to Texas’ 2015 class. His announcement, made via Twitter, comes one day after four-star Miami prospects Devonaire Clarington (tight end) and Tim Irvin (defensive back) committed to Texas at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. On Thursday, Clarington’s high school teammate at Booker T. Washington, four-star cornerback Davante Davis, committed to the Horns. Last month, three-star linebacker Cecil Cherry became the first of the Florida Five to commit.

Johnson’s commitment is Texas’ fifth in the first four days of 2015. He is the 26th member of a class that 247 Sports ranks ninth in the country.
Johnson (6-2, 190) signed with Georgia last year but detoured to Georgia Prep Sports Academy.
