Texas has a Big 12-leading eight women’s basketball players named to the All-Conference Academic team, the league announced Thursday.
Longhorns honored on the first team: guard Krystle Henderson, forward Kelsey Lang, center Imani McGee-Stafford, guard Celina Rodrigo, guard Brady Sanders and guard Brianna Taylor. Guard Empress Davenport and forward Nneka Enemkpali received second-team honors.
Sanders is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 first team honoree, while Enemkpali is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 second team honoree. McGee-Stafford and Rodrigo earned first-team honors for the second consecutive year.
Davenport, Henderson, Lang and Taylor take home Academic All-Big 12 honors for the first time.
First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.
