*Update, 4:10 p.m.*
Texas and Kansas State will play their series-opener at 4 p.m. Saturday with the hope of playing a second game that night. For that to happen, the first game cannot be postponed, and the second game must start by 8 p.m. If either of those two things happen, the double-header will move to Sunday.
A 45-minute break between games is required.
If the double-header is moved to Sunday, it will begin at 10 a.m. Otherwise, the teams will play one game, at 1 p.m.
Texas has postponed Friday’s series-opener against Kansas State due to expected rain in the area. A make-up date has not been set, likely because rain is also expected for Saturday.
This marks the fourth home game Texas has had to postpone or cancel because of weather. The Longhorns also canceled their alumni game and their first day of organized team practice.
The Big 12 does not require its teams to play full conference series. Two years ago, Baylor and Oklahoma State played just two games in Stillwater because of rain.
Parker French was due on the mound for No. 21 Texas, which is looking to win its second straight series to open Big 12 play.
