After gallivanting to China and the Bahamas, the Texas men’s basketball team will come home and host Vanderbilt Jan. 30, 2016, at the Erwin Center this season as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge.

The Longhorns are 3-4 in the all-time series against the Commodores. The two teams last met during the 2013-14 season with Texas winning, 70-64.

Big 12 and SEC officials must not have a sense of humor. Former Texas coach Rick Barnes is now at Tennessee. The Volunteers will be headed to Fort Worth to meet TCU. That might be as close as Barnes gets back  to Austin for the foreseeable future.
