On Tuesday, Texas landed the highest-rated prospect in its 2016 recruiting class.
Navasota four-star wide receiver Tren’Davian Dickson, the sixth-ranked player in the American Statesman’s Fabulous 55 of the state’s top players, announced via Twitter he plans to be a Longhorn.
According to 247Sports’ composite ratings, Dickson is the state’s No. 18 player and No. 118 nationally. He was recruited by new Texas receivers coach Jay Norvell.
Dickson had a plethora of major offers, including Alabama, Baylor, TCU, Texas A&M and Notre Dame.
Dickson is Texas’ seventh pledge in the 2016 class and its third WR along with San Jose’s Collin Johnson and Manvel’s Reggie Hemphill-Mapps.
