Longhorns land three-star TE from New Orleans

Peyton Aucoin, a three-star tight end from New Orleans, posted on his Twitter account late Friday that he was committed to Texas.

Aucoin (6-foot-5, 255 pounds) posted a message along with a photo of himself with UT tight ends coach Jeff Traylor.

“I’d like to thank everyone who helped me in this recruiting process and my coaches and teammates,” Aucoin said on Twitter. “I’d like to thank every college that gave me the opportunity to be a part of their programs but I’ve decided to commit to the University of Texas!”

Arlington Lamar quarterback Shane Buechele, another UT pledge in the 2016 recruiting class, also posted on his Twitter account, “Longhorn fans about to be real happy.”

“Great way to start off this weekend! #LetsRide,” Texas coach Charlie Strong posted on Twitter.

Aucoin is the eighth commitment of the 2016 recruiting class.
