Texas recruiting target Mark Jackson chooses Sooners

Texas target Mark Jackson has chosen to play in the Big 12 over the SEC. But it’s not the school Longhorns fans had hoped for. Jackson spoke to the San Antonio Express-News on Monday afternoon and indicated he was committing to Oklahoma in 2016.

The Cibolo Steele defensive lineman had Texas among the list of schools he considered, including Texas A&M, Baylor and Oklahoma, per Football Brainiacs. Jackson is the 36th-ranked player in the state on the Statesman’s Fabulous 55 list. He had previously committed to Texas A&M last fall, but visited both Texas and Oklahoma in January.
