Texas women’s golf team earns trip to NCAA Championships

Texas advanced to the NCAA Championship with a sixth-place finish Saturday in the NCAA regional at Traditions Golf Club in Bryan.

Georgia won the regional by six strokes at 6-under-par 858, with UCLA’s Bronte Law and Georgia’s Bailey Tardy tying for medalist honors at 7-under-par 209. The Longhorns shot 15 over par through the three rounds.

Julia Beck led the Longhorns at 1 under par and tied for 12th place. Haley Mills finished in 18th place at 1 over par, and Natalie Karcher tied for 35th place at 7 over. Sophia Schubert tied for 42nd at 8 over, and Tezira Abe was 81st at 24 over.


The NCAA Championship will begin May 20 at Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.
