Former A&M pledge Mannie Netherly visits Charlie Strong

From social media metdown in College Station to the 40 Acres?

Former Texas A&M commit, and No. 29 recruit on the Austin American-Statesman’s Fab 55 Mannie Netherly paid a visit to Charlie Strong  (and his fresh birkenstocks) Thursday according to a post to his Twitter account:

The Crosby High School wide receiver was a commit to Texas A&M up until last week when a five-star quarterback decommitted and an Aggie assistant coach took to Twitter to subtweet him chiding his decommitment.

This exchange prompted Netherly to post this message, officially pulling out of the Aggies’ 2017 class.

At the time, Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods.com felt that the Longhorns would be a strong contender for Netherly in 2017:

Will Netherly commit to the Longhorns in the near future after his conversation with Strong? Perhaps. Potential 2017 classmate Lagaryonn Carson is lobbying for that:
