When your name conjures up images of an old western gunslinger, and you grew up in San Angelo, and you played quarterback in the state of Texas, it’s tough to become more of a Texan.
But Sterlin Gilbert has found a way. And it involves two things that can’t be more stereotypical Texan: H-E-B and barbecue.
On Monday the Longhorns’ offensive coordinator tweeted a message that just might make him the most favorite assistant coach in the history of the Texas:

He has a family barbecue rub. There’s not a website, that we can find, for “West Texas Rub” but “Judge’s Choice” is probably a tip of the cap to Sterlin’s father, Allen Gilbert, a longtime judge in the San Angelo area.
