Morolake Akinosun and Courtney Okolo were added to the U.S. Olympic team and Chrisann Gordon was selected to be part of the Jamaican Olympic team on Monday.
USA Track & Field chose Akinosun to join the relay pool for the 4×100 meter relay after her fourth place showing in the 100 meter final. She will be one of six runners eligible to run in any of the rounds of 4×100 competition.
Okolo will be in the rely pool for the 4×400 meter relay after placing sixth in the 400 meter final. Okolo was part of Team USA’s victory in the 4×400 meter relay at the IAAF World Indoor Championships last March.
Gordon made her first Jamaican Olympic team and will be in the relay pool for the 4×400 meter relay.
With Akinosun, Gordon and Okolo being added to their Olympic rosters, nine former or current Longhorns will be competing in Rio.
