Texas’ Malik Jefferson has been popping up all over preseason watch lists, and on Friday he landed on another one for Walter Camp Player of the Year.
Jefferson, a sophomore linebacker, is among 40 players up for the award, whose past winners include former Longhorns Ricky Williams (1998) and Colt McCoy (2008 and 2009).
Jefferson has pulled in some serious recognition this summer, being named the Big 12 preseason defensive player of the year and landing on watch lists for the Bednarik, Bronko Nagurski and Butkus awards.
