Top women’s basketball prospects visit Texas

Megan Walker, rated as the nation’s No. 1 high school basketball player, will be in Austin this week to visit the University of Texas.
The 6-1 shooting guard will be joined by Chastity Patterson, ranked by ESPN as the nation’s No. 6 prospect for the Class of 2017.
Walker and Patterson’s visit will include tickets to Saturday night’s UTEP-Texas football game.
Walker, from Richmond, Va., averaged 21 points as a junior at Richmond’s Monacan high school. She also contributed 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 steals a game.
She is expected to choose Connecticut, Notre Dame or Texas to play college basketball.
Patterson, a 5-6 point guard, has averaged 21 points during her 106 games as a high school basketball player. Patterson and Walker will be starting their senior years of high school this fall.
