WATCH: Texas football players talk about Colt McCoy’s letter to the team

Posted September 15th, 2016

The week before Texas’ season opener, former quarterback Colt McCoy penned an open letter to current players on the Player’s Tribune website. According to some of them, it was one of the reasons why the Longhorns were able to upset Notre Dame 50-47 in double overtime.

On Thursday, the Longhorn Network released this video showing what Shane Buechele, D’Onta Foreman, John Burt and others thought about McCoy’s message and how it drove them to success over the Irish.

“It was kind of weird,” Buechele says. “I read this piece of paper that he gave to us, and I went and did it. It was an awesome experience.”
