Texas’ Harrison Scott advanced to the semifinals at the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic with a straight set victory over Texas Tech’s Alex Sendegeya Friday in Lafayette, La.
Scott topped Sendegeya 6-4, 6-4 in the quarterfinals and will play Texas Tech’s Bjorn Thomson in the semis on Saturday.
Thompson moved on to the semis with a three-set victory against Texas’ Colin Markes 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Markes and sophomore Leonardo Telles edged Southern Cal’s Henry Ji and Laurens Verboven in the opening round of doubles play a 6-2, 2-6, 1-0 (4).
Markes and Telles fell in the doubles quarterfinals 7-6, 7-6 to Kentucky’s William Bushamuka and Beck Pennington.
