Bohls: Aggies moving up on AP Top 25 ballot

I’ve got Texas A&M on my mind and on the rise on my Associated Press Top 25 ballot.

The Aggies broke the Arkansas Razorbacks’ hearts — and maybe their bodies — Saturday night at Jerry World, using a couple of goal-line stands and terrific rushing performances from quarterback Trevor Knight and running back Trayveon Williams for an impressive 45-24 victory. Knight never looked this fast in an Oklahoma uniform.

I bumped A&M from 10th to ninth in my vote Sunday after a weekend in which Michigan State was the only Top 10 team to fall, which Sparty did in embarrassing fashion to rising Wisconsin. I moved the Badgers from 15th to 10th.

My top eight remained unchanged with Alabama, Louisville, Ohio State, Houston and Michigan as my first five.

I dropped Michigan State from ninth to 16th and moved Georgia from 14th to 24th after its no-show against Ole Miss. Dropped LSU all the way out after its second loss of the season.

My newcomers on my ballot are No. 19 Utah, No. 21 West Virginia and No. 22 Florida.

I don’t have Texas in my ballot. Its win over Notre Dame becomes less valuable all the time with the Irish losing to Duke and going 1-3.

My ballot:

  1. Alabama
  2. Louisville
  3. Ohio State
  4. Houston
  5. Michigan
  6. Stanford
  7. Clemson
  8. Washington
  9. Texas A&M
  10. Wisconsin
  11. Miami
  12. Florida State
  13. Tennessee
  14. Boise State
  15. Baylor
  16. Michigan State
  17. Nebraska
  18. San Diego State
  19. Utah
  20. Ole Miss
  21. West Virginia
  22. Florida
  23. Arkansas
  24. Georgia
  25. North Dakota State
