Haley Woodard’s goal in the 104th minute gave the Oklahoma State Cowgirls a 2-1 overtime victory against the Texas soccer team Friday night at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
It was the Longhorns’ second straight overtime loss to a conference opponent, Texas fell by the same score to Oklahoma last week. The Cowgirls (6-5-2) earned their first conference victory and improved to 1-2-0 in Big 12 play. Texas (6-5-1) dropped to 0-2-1 in the conference.
Kayra Dollas gave Texas a 1-0 edge in the 62nd minute when she headed in Emma Jett’s corner kick. The Longhorns had 16 corner kicks Saturday night, one shy of a school record.
The Cowgirls evened the match in the 71st minute when Niki McKnight hit a free kick that glanced off Texas goalie Paige Brown’s fingertips, hit the cross bar, rolled in front of the goal and forward Courtney Dike sent the ball into the net. Brown had six saves.
Woodard got a pass on the left wing from Anna Beffer at 1:03.08 in double overtime and dribbled into the penalty box and scored her fifth goal of the season from eight yards out.
