Doug Ghim tied for third at Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

Texas junior Doug Ghim shot a 5-under 67 as the Longhorns shot even par in the second round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate on Saturday in Alpharetta, Ga.

Ghim is tied for third at 6 under par, three strokes behind leader Jimmy Stanger of Virginia. Stanger shot a 68 in the second round and is two strokes ahead of Oklahoma’s Max McGreevy.

Oklahoma is in the lead at 2 under and holds a two-stroke lead over Texas A&M and Virginia. The Longhorns are tied for seventh place at 3 over par.


Ghim had two birdies on the front nine to make the turn at 2 under and eagled the par-5 12th hole. He closed with a birdie on the 18th hole to finish at five under. Ghim has parred 27 holes and has made just two bogeys through two rounds.

UT’s Scottie Scheffler shot even par in the second round and is tied for ninth place at 2 under. Teammate Gavin Hall also shot a 72 on Saturday and is tied for 37th place at 3 over. Taylor Funk followed an opening round 75 with a 77 and is at 8 over.
