  • Texas returns to the Erwin Center for their most important home game of the year. The Horns defeated No. 4 Baylor earlier this month in Waco.

NORMAN, Okla. — Peyton Little drilled a go-ahead three-point basket with 2 seconds to play to give Oklahoma a 74-73 victory over Texas, snapping UT’s 19-game winning streak.

It was the first loss for Texas since Dec. 4 against UConn.

Texas had a chance to tie the game on its next possession but Nancy Mulkey stole the in-bounds pass and was fouled. Her free throw with 0.6 seconds gave OU a four-point lead.

Oklahoma had no problems with Texas’ defense early, shooting 58 percent from the field to take a 42-38 lead at the half.

The Longhorns had no answer for OU center Vionese Pierre-Louis, who scored 15 points on 5-for-7 shooting in the half, all of them within two feet of the basket.

Texas sophomore Lashann Higgs had the game’s most memorable shot, a 50-foot three-point banker to give Texas a 59-56 lead after three quarters.

The Longhorns will return to Big 12 action with their biggest home game of the year on Monday. They will take on No. 4 Baylor at 8 p.m. at the Erwin Center. Earlier this month Texas defeated Baylor 85-79 in Waco, snapping a 14-game losing streak to the Lady Bears.

The last home game of the regular season will be Friday against Iowa State. Texas will honor its two seniors, Brianna Taylor and Kelsey Lang.
