OKLAHOMA CITY — Brooke McCarty scored 13 points and Lashann Higgs chipped in 12 to lead Texas to a 71-60 victory over Oklahoma State in a Big 12 Tournament quarterfinal game Saturday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Longhorns (23-7) advance to play the winner of Saturday’s game between Oklahoma and West Virginia. Game time is 4 p.m. Sunday at Chesapeake Energy Arena
Texas lead 37-30 behind 11 points by McCarty and 10 by Higgs. The Longhorns extended their lead to 21 in the third quarter and coasted to vistory.
Texas marked the third time Texas and Oklahoma State have met this season. The Longhorns won 66-35 in Austin and 85-71 in Stillwater.
Texas leads the series over the Cowgirls 31-15.
Before the game, McCarty was presented the Big 12 Player of the Year trophy from conference senior associate commissioner Dru Hancock.
