The University of Texas women’s basketball team’s non-conference schedule for the 2017-18 season will include powerhouses UConn, Tennessee and Florida State.
This season’s non-conference opponents compiled a 185-106 (.636) record last season and three of UT’s non-league foes are ranked among the nation’s top teams according to ESPN.com’s “Way-Too-Early Preseason Top-25.” In addition to the announced opponents, the Longhorns will participate in the South Point Shootout in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 24-25, with matchups to be determined at a later date. Texas will play two games in that event.
Home-schedule highlights include contests against NCAA Semifinalist UConn on Jan. 15 and a return game from NCAA Regional Finalist Florida State on Dec. 17.
The Longhorns begin their 2017-18 season with an exhibition game on November 5 against Oklahoma City University, which captured the 2017 NAIA Division I National Championship with a 34-2 overall record and a 17-0 mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
