‘FYI from CDC’: Texas AD Chris Del Conte starts newsletter for fans

Posted January 24th, 2018

In his first two months as athletic director at Texas, Chris Del Conte has maintained an air of approachability. Just check Twitter, where he regularly replies to fans’ questions and comments.

On Wednesday, Del Conte started a new form of communication with fans with a newsletter called “40 Acres Insider.” He even synced the date to coincide with Bevo XV’s birthday.

“MY longhorn is BEVO XV,” Del Conte wrote. “My tenure starts under his eyes. The eyes of BEVO XV are upon me. And his eyes are upon all Longhorn fans.”

The function of the newsletter is to provide regular updates on UT athletics from the head man himself. “We might even have a little fun with it too,” he said.

Included in the first one were a link to the Andrew Jones fund, news on the new tennis center and recent gifts to the athletic program, and an invitation to the men’s and women’s basketball games on Saturday at the Erwin Center.
