Texas improves to 18-4, 9-2 in the Big 12. TCU is 16-6

TCU had its seven-game winning streak snapped. One of those victories was a 79-77 victory over the Longhorns last month in Fort Worth.

Among the Longhorns who contributed was freshman Rellah Boothe, who had missed the last seven games while serving a team suspension. She received a rousing ovation when she entered the game with 1:22 left in the second quarter and scored her first points since Jan. 7 with a layup with 57 seconds to go. She finished with 9 points and 3 boards.

The game was never in doubt. Texas rolled to  27-4 lead after one quarter, extended it to 50-24 at halftime and held a 73-43 edge after three quarters.

TCU had held its previous six opponents to less than 70 points a game.

Texas returns to Big 12 action Monday at West Virginia. The Horns’ next home game will be Saturday against Kansas State.
