This winter, both the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies will get a chance to play basketball under the Houston Rockets’ roof.
On Wednesday, Texas was among the announced participants for the Battleground 2k20 showcase. Texas will play Louisiana Tech as part of a doubleheader that Houston’s Toyota Center will host on Dec. 18. The event’s first game will feature Texas A&M and Boise State.
The times and broadcast information for the Texas A&M/Boise State and Texas/Louisiana Tech games will be released at a later date.
Those two contests will be tied to a campaign called Athletes Against Abuse. According to a press released, that initiative “will strive to blur the lines between sport and service, inspiring athletes to use their talent, notoriety and influence to improve the lives of those around them.”
